Came across this one on a compilation tape and have to say I'd completely forgotten about this group.Remember seeing an old BBC programme called "sight and sound in concert" back in about 1977 which featured Split Enz and what an odd bunch they were, odd haircuts and over the top make up but they played some good songs.
Went out and bought this 12' single "My Mistake / Crosswords" and played it to death, but then sort of forgot them due to the blossoming punk/new wave era.

Hi! This single comes from the album 'Dizrthymia', but the LP/CD you really want to get hold of is 'Mental Notes' (UK edition - it was originally named 'Second Thoughts' for it's antipodean release). It's a wild and wacky album that would probably grace my top albums of all time list. Written essentially by Phil Judd with help from Tim Finn it is one of those off-the-wall, once-in-a-lifetime albums that just brims with ideas and seems to encompass every style imaginable (watch out for the spoons solo!)

The Spoon Song was in The Woman Who Loves You, top track we used to raid the kitchen and play along.
