I tend to either love or hate cover versions, if they are too similar to the original I'll label them as shite, or if a band has put their own distinctive mark on them I usually love them.

A lot with punk influence but enough of other genres to make it interesting.

This is my favourite Slits album for some reason?,
I only picked it up a couple of years ago having totally missed it when it was out originally.
Certainly a "Love it or Hate it" type album.

Big in Japan are more famous for the members of the band who went on to bigger and better things after leaving than they ever were at the time, still worth a listen though.
Former band members included Holly Johnson (Frankie GTH), Budgie (Siouxsie, Slits, Creatures), Bill Drummond (KLF, Timelords etc), Ian Broudie (Lightning Seeds), David Balfe (Teardrop Explodes).
