Sex Pistols - Live At The Screen On The Green Islington 1976

Another one from 1976 these are the Pistols tracks from the Midnight Special gig at the Screen on the Green in Islington London.
The Clash and Buzzcocks were both on the same bill that night, so quite a night for anyone who attended.
I wasn't there so I can't vouch for authenticity although I believe it's the real thing.

Sex Pistols - Live At Chelmsford Prison

Originally recorded in 1976 this CD was released in 2000 although I've read that a lot of the crowd reaction was cut including a near riot after anarchy.Strangely despite living within 15 miles of Chelmsford I never go there, apart from two appearances at the crown court, where luckily I've avoided visiting the venue for this CD :)
Incidently the cover picture is misleading as Glenn Matlock was still in the band when this was recorded.

Loved watching the video of this song, Debbie at her best.
So many people have said to me that they prefer the original Nerves version, well sorry to come across as a plastic punk but I like this version best, the Nerves one was OK but they never had a gorgeous blonde frontwoman so to my mind there was no competition :)

Yes - Wonderous Stories

Another band I like in places, a few album tracks and a couple of singles are real favourites of mine but the rest I find a bit ordinary.
This is a reasonable tune although I prefer the B side.
I have kept this due to the fact it's a big blue vinyl 12" which is a wonderous thing :)

A regret is that I'm pretty sure I've owned a complete range of coloured vinyls 7" and 12" over the years but sold them on to fund my "rent and food" habit, Even if some of the records weren't actually that good they are lovely things to look at.

Jerry Lee Lewis - Great Balls Of Fire

Two classics from Jerry Lee Lewis, this isn't the original although still nearly 30 years old, part of the "Old Gold" series which was widely available in the late 70's and early 80's which enabled you to buy classic tunes which were only available if you could track down an original single or if it had been put on one of those K-Tel style compilation albums.
We are so lucky these days with just about anything being available to download or buy on CD.
Incidentally I recently watched the movie "Great Balls Of Fire" for the first time on TV, excellent film worth a watch if you've never seen it.

10CC - The Wall Street Shuffle

10cc were an early favourite group in the Seventies, this is one of the later UK records releases before they went off to Mercury and had their peak period.
The instrumental B side is interesting as it's possibly the first time the Gismo is used which would eventually split them up.

Blah blah - I remember playing Gismo and my older brother who was into proggy style music liked it so much he went out and bought the "Sheet music" album, got it home and found out the track wasn't on the album ... d'oh haha.
