Echo And The Bunnymen - Do It Clean

According to the info I've read these 2 tracks were left off the Binnymen's debut album Crocodiles originally because Warner Bros director Rob Dickins thought that they contained obscenities, the cassette version had them but the vinyl didn't?
Several months later the tracks were included as a limited edition single with the vinyl album, which is where I assume this came from.
Interesting when looking up the value of this "rarity", Musicstack in the US has it listed at a wide range of prices from $1.92 to $5120.87!!
I think it was well worth the 10p I paid for it at a boot sale last year :)
The B side gives a writing credit to Julian Cope as well as Ian McCulloch.

Various Artists - Cover Versions

I tend to either love or hate cover versions, if they are too similar to the original I'll label them as shite, or if a band has put their own distinctive mark on them I usually love them.
Here is a totally random selection, by no means the best and probably not even including all my favourites (just ones that sprung to mind without having to search too hard).

My second favourite Echo song.

A - The Cutter
B - Way Out And Up We Go

Echo And The Bunnymen - The Back Of Love

There are so many bands that I end up loving the first song I ever heard by them and never like anything else as much again (if that makes sense?).
Thought this was brilliant the first time I heard it, and still think it's brilliant 26 years later.

A - The Back Of Love
B - The Subject

Various - Sound Of The Suburbs

The cover says 20 New Wave hits from the 70's and 80's and it's true the tracks are from those decades, but not sure if some of the tracks are really new wave?
Still it's a pretty good collection of tunes including a few compilation standards and some that rarely get a mention.
I think Lou Reed got star billing as his "Perfect day" remake was riding high in the charts at the time.

John Peel Show 19/03/80

I came across this old tape which had part of a John Peel show from (as far as I can find out) 19th March 1980.
Only 44 mins sadly (one side of a C90) but well worth a listen to hear Peel in his prime.

Tracks
(Fade Into) Snatch - Shopping For Clothes
Undertones - She's a Runaround
Pauline Murray - Dream Sequence
Cigarettes - Can't Sleep at Night
Joy Division - Atrocity Exhibition
The Fall - How I Wrote Elastic Man
Bob Marley - Rastaman
Echo and the Bunnymen - Stars Are Stars
Prefects - Going Through The Motions
Ranking Joe - Sheer Show Off
Comsat Angels - Independance Day
Pauline Murray - Shoot - (Ends Suddenly as Tape ran out).

Sure I've got some more, but not sure if I'll find them as most of my cassettes were
either stuck up in the loft or possibly thrown away after they got jammed in the car tape player.
