Was thinking of starting a new blog with novelty records only (although it's been done already) as I seemed to have owned a large selection of these type of tunes that seemed great at the time but make you wonder why you wasted money on them years later, luckily I've sold most of them and only a few remain.
This one still makes me chuckle, a nice cross between Monty Pythons four yorkshireman and the Hovis commercial.
The B side is listed as the signature tune for BBC radio Sheffield, no wonder everyone I've met from Sheffield seems so miserable :)
The record actually lists the artist as Tony Capstick, Carlton Main And The Frickley Colliery Band for anyone into brass band music :)
